Pay Chen has been working in television since 1998 when her parents told her not to pursue a career as a doctor/concert pianist and encouraged her to seek a career in the arts because TV saves lives too.

Prone to lying to her parents about her job, Pay is an experienced TV host, writer and producer. Her hosting credits include Breakfast Television Winnipeg (Citytv), seven years on OMNI-TV in Toronto, a technology show on G4 TechTV, the Biography Channel Canada and the popular pre-school program, “4 Square”, on Treehouse TV.

A fondness for food and baking have led to work as the food columnist for Metro Newspapers in Winnipeg as well as contributing content to popular websites such as iVillage.ca. In addition to writing for print and the web, she has also written extensively for TV.

Pay loves eating, making things to eat, fitness, fashion and young children who swear in public.

Born in Taiwan and raised in Nova Scotia, Pay is certain about three things:

  1. You can never have enough lobster.
  2. Asian people should not perm their hair. Ever.
  3. Her family thinks she is in med school somewhere in Europe.
